1.  Admiral Sir Nicholas Hunt states that an officer who disobeys orders and proves to be right should be promoted.  If wrong, he should be ready to take responsibility for his actions.  In either case, the officers who decide his fate need to distinguish between two things.  What are these things?

 

2.  In the story “Damn Exec”, what is the difference in the way that the XO passes along orders to the Senior Watch Officer and way the Senior Watch Officer passes orders along to the Chief Boatswain’s Mate?

 

3.  In the story “Damn Exec”, the Captain tells his officers a story that happened during World War II.  After that he tells them “Giving orders the lazy way is like a drug.”  What does he mean by that?
